It even explains what the mission is, they put the President and the commander of Strategic Air Command (SAC) so the government keeps and to direct the war from the air... It had to fly during 9/11 because nobody knew if the attacks were over.

  • You show footage of the E-4A, not the E-4B. Big difference. And, when "9/11" occured in 2001, the Strategic Air Command had long since stood down and the US Strategic Command had stood up. And, USCINCSTRAT would not have launched on the National Airborne Operations Center back then. He would have launched on one of his own aircraft, most likely the Looking Glass alert aircraft. Do your research.

  • @FylthyBeest Ok, brother, no need to insult, I'm just posting a VERY old video, but to set the record straight:

I've never heard of the E-4A, only the E-4B, and for all you know, I could work in it. You are right about SAC not existing, and now being called USSTRATCOM. However, the Navy's Looking Glass, even though is an alert aircraft, is actually the back-up to the NAOC. The NAOC is the primary emergency response aircraft, not the Looking Glass.

  • @MrVideoslocos There was no insult intended. Of the four existing E-4 Advanced Airborne Command Post aircraft produced, only tail number 125 was built as an E-4B, never having been an E-4A. The other three E-4A aircraft were later converted to E-4Bs. Don't confuse the National mission with the USSTRATCOM mission. The NAOC (ne NEACP) is (or was) the airborne component of the National Military Command System.

  • @FylthyBeest Probably the reason why I never heard of the E-4A is because it was so long ago, I was born in '77, and the first E-4B was delivered in '79, so I've always known the aircraft as the E-4B. It's amazing how much information is on an open source like wikipedia. If you haven't seen the Nat Geo special: "America's Doomsday" you should, they get inside the latest model E-4B, it's pretty awesome!!! And is only a year old!
