  • if its not a diamond will it damage it

  • DiamondTester . com - offers great selection of testers in order not to make mistake when selecting a stone for yourself.

  • "the diamond people?" who would they be? You are probably thinking of De Beers and yes they do hoard diamonds but then they do own them and they can do with their diamonds what they want. Most owners of diamond mines do keep a long term inventory of diamonds, not to hoard them but to ensure they have a ready supply for their customers in lean times. Nobody is hoarding diamonds to prevent the world from owning but but rather to drive up prices.

  • it is said the diamond people are hoarding them in vaults to keep the value up. there is no diamond shortage to make them too expensive, but they will hoard them so everyone has to find something else to like. Moissanite is fine and I like the rainbows you get that Diamonds don't have. The only issue is that they are overpricing Moissanite like crazy.

  • If you look at Sears website they are going on and and on about moissanite being prettier than diamonds and they don't sell much diamonds anymore. The hardness is only a degree off and they claim you get intensive color and fire sparkle compared with diamonds and back it up with impressive photos. They can't make a diamond as good as a real one, only it's very close but not as hard. The colorless is something to brag about so refraction of colors is considered a flaw in a real diamond.

  • where could someone buy something like this?

  • Actually diamonds CAN be mass-produced, and they are getting cheaper and cheaper every year as the process becomes more refined. And they don't just look like perfect D-flawless diamonds - they ARE perfect D-flawless diamonds. So hope you didn't pay too much for your perfect rock; there's a whole boatload on the way.

  • what about lab diamonds???

  • Haha to you. I study Gemology so I know better unless you have a Ph.D in diamonds. Don't lecture me bcoz I know everything already. A diamond cannot be mass produce. It takes 3.3 billion years to create them while Moissanite can be created every single day and guess how many Moissanite is there after 3.3 billion years of lab creations?

  • Diamonds are about 10x more expensive. Haha! I love it! No one can tell the difference yet one is 10x more expensive. Why would you waste the money?
