One and done...

Modern anti ship torpedoes doesn't work that way. The are designed to detonate underneath the hull. The explosion then creates a pressure wave that snaps the keel.
-
@baileyjean1000 Both really, the purpose of a torpedo is to penetrate the hull, then detonate once it has entered the ship's center of mass. The explosion then rips the boat in two, rendering it useless.
-
Does a torpedo destroy by actually penetrating the hull, or by the shock wave produced by it exploding? And I know I shouldn't say it, but that was sooooo cool!

torpedos are damn huge

Calm down mate, the ship was empty - a retired vessel so no-one died... and come on, its not everyday that you get to see something as sweet as a ship being blown up!
