@ylism Kel-tec is working on it. It will be called the RMR-30 and is based on their PMR-30 pistol in .22WMR (30 rd mags). Unlike the folding Sub 2000 it will have a telescoping stock on a 16" barreled action with top and bottom picatinny rails. I don't expect to see it hit the market until mid 2012 though.

@3wbdriver That would mean that 9 mm +P+ ammo is way to high a PSI as well. I think it could be made to work if the 357 sig under the right rifle. Like maybe an AR15 that Olympic Arms makes. Thanks again, yl

@3wbdriver Thanks for your reply.... That opens a market for someone. It would be nice to have to me. Even one that could change out the barrels. Food for thought. Even a 22 magnum built like the SUB-2000 with 30 round mags. That would be nice too..Best, yl

South Korea now makes copies of Glock magazines under the Khan/KCI brand. They are slightly oversized and will not drop free. It has been reported that if you store them loaded the springs will give up tension in short order also. The people I know who have bought them sand the bodies to fix the drop free problem, and replace the springs with genuine Glock or Wolff springs. Otherwise they seem happy with them.

@ylism Actually Kel-tec did custom make something fewer than 5 of the original all metal Sub 9 in .357 SIG (for Kel-tec employees). The round was found to be too hot for even the all metal model, and as far as I know those rifles are not covered by Kel-tec's warranty. So the owners shoot them at their own risk.

@JendellForce There is another Glock copy magazine made by another company. Some say there ok.

@3wbdriver Thanks for the info. I had a camp carbine 9mm it was suppose to add up to 30%. But it was not rated for +P ammo, I think. I did shoot some one time and it did not work right on every shot. It did not hurt the rifle but it wasn't worth the chance to keep shooting. I had 3 of them all where very good shooters. I wish that Kel-tec would make one in 357 Sig. That would be a better deer gun ect. I would think It would need a heavy recoil spring, and a heaver bolt mass to shoot safe. yl

@ylism It will handle +p in limited use, but +p+ is not recommended by Kel-tec. I have heard from others who have taken deer with it using .40 S&W handloads. Typically you are looking at an avg 200 fps gain over a pistol length barrel with a corresponding gain in terminal performance. Hope this helps answer your question.
-
Will the carbine handle +P Or +P+ ammo ? I would think with proper loads it would make a good hunting / back packing rifle. Even on deer size game at close ranges. What are your thoughts. Have you ever chronograph the ammo to see how much more you get out of a given load ? That is over a pistol barrel to the 16" of the SUB 2000. Anybody that knows please reply back.Best, yl

dang! Your's is fully decked out!

An assault rifle is loosely defined as a selective fire rifle designed for combat that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine.
-
An "assault rifle" is a weapon capable of a full auto rate of fire....Look it up.
-
Sorry, I have to disagree on this one. The weapons you cite, (MP40, MP5, MAC10) are all considered Machine Pistols due to their firing a pistol caliber round. The Kel-tec Sub 2000 was originally created with law enforcement in mind. It was intended as a way for police to extend their usable range while still using the same pistol round their dept was issued. This is why it is available in various different magazine configurations. It is not an assault rifle in any of the free states.
-
This is called a tactical carbine. No, an assault rifle does not need to have select fire capability to be classified as such. If the weapons purpose is tactically motivated, or designed (i.e. compactability) it is an assault rifle. Caliber dosen't matter....ever heard of an MP40, MP5, MAC10?

sounds like NJ

hoohaa

I think it has to have select fire and a rifle size caliber ti be an "assault rifle".Now calicommie is a different story.Did you have more than a10 rnd clip?Contact a lawyer that specializes in this area. .Move out of that place to somewhere that has sensable gun laws. They're trying to classify every weapon that looks scary to them as an"assault rifle",when these rifles realistically just dont qulify as real assault rifles.Good luck with ur fight ,man!
-
I believe any weapon without a static stock, detachable hi-capacity magazine, any type of flash suppressor/muzzle break, select-fire and/or bayonet lug is considered an assault weapon. Thank god gun laws are not so retarded here. I feel for you man. That is the most retarded thing I have ever heard.
-
it might be if you have modified it , i dont know if you should fight the case, you will probably get more time , corruption
-
No. Their rep is just too hit or miss for me to invest what they want for one. For the price of one Scherer I can get 2 more 15 round Glock mags.
-
Have you tried the Scherer 31 round mags? I heard some cause feeding problems but there mods you can do to correct it. They are cheaper than the Glock Mags which are getting hard to get a hold of.
-
Again, it depends on where you are. In Commiefornia, Chicago, or anywhere else they fear semi-auto rifles it would definitely be considered an assault weapon. In most more liberally observed places it's merely a way to extend a handgun round's range.
The military would laugh if Kel-Tec went up to them and introduced the Sub2000 as an assault rifle. By definition an assault rifle would have to have selective fire (switching between semi-auto and full auto) to be considered such. They are trying to define even your most common semi-auto rifles assault weapons now, that is one of the main reasons why gun sales are up since Obama won the election. I would get a pro-gun lawyer and even sue them for violating your 2nd Amendment rights.

Gives you a new view of "Freedom" in the USA. I own one in Georgia....bought it used from a cop face to face. Just a taste of change from the Obama types.....won't let it happen here.
