John Bonham had WAY too much RAW groove. Like it or not, when you try to be too technical and perfect and as you call it "mathematically balanced and perfectly progressive" that is not always the best for Drummers. All the music studying in the WORLD will NEVER give you something you need to be born with. Danny Carry Would never sound good with Led Zepplin and Probably Vice Versa. 2 FANTASTIC drummers. A computer could make "perfect" drumming but, YUCK !

@loveisthelaw20042004 I do. If it sounds "sloppy" to you you're not hearing it right and this is something a lot of people do I think. He tries NOT to play what the band is playing as much as possible but despite this he effortlessly makes drum grooves in varying time signatures that are mathematically balanced and perfectly progressive. To fully appreciate Danny you almost have to study his music...then see Tool live because his improvs give me a hard on everytime.

im sorry,but after reading all of this BULLSHIT about whos better?I would say Danny Carey kicks anybodys skills on the drums,alive or dead! no question,but realize the issue! TOOL's songs wouldnt be Tool without him! nor would Led Zep without John Bonham!2 different eras,
