this game was meant for a certain group of people if your not part of the mindset of the group youl find the game very dull

enhancements and feats can be reset (cheaply w/ in-game money, esp. at lower lvls), however, the stats cant be reset w/ in-game money (you need to pay RL cash); many ppl dont, for example, monks (melee) basically NEED 14-16 DEX starting
pvp wasnt promoted (ddo players were against pvp at all, this was the compromise) because itd require they hurt pve w/ balance issues
also, if you count sub-levels, there are 100 levels
loot isnt random, its tuned for your class see your options (changeable)

@jfreedan you may think you sound complex but the simplicity isnt so simple. for me its about comparing a single swing and the dmge i do on different enemies and the more dmge i do in a single swing the happier i am. so melee for me is about always ALWAYS looking for a better weapon and always always INCREASING the dmge i do in a single strike.
so for you its nothing for me its a entire universe, as there are many weapons and many mods that make the weapon effective.

end it is a usa game Nat a jrpg you moron
I was upset when they introduced pvp to DDO, and I've never played it. D&D is not about PVP. It's about cooperative play. I understand that they had to add it. Too bad you couldn't get your pally up past level 10 (or 3 for that matter) and show some of the really cool scenes. One more thing. You're wrong about melee bring boring. In group settings you have to make sure you have aggro, you should be using power attacks, uncanny dodge, etc. There's plenty to think about.

@lucduchien I played my character up to level 6, actually. I did party with other players. I was personally bored because I like to do more than just hold down one weapon to autoswing. Your own mileage may vary.

This video is funny to watch, because opinions is based on the main stream MMO's. The only thing that isn't true is that DDO uses the 3 system of D&D. DDO uses the 3.5 system from D&D. Besides these two points this video gives you a pretty good idea of what the game is about.

@GatekeeperCruelman Uh, 3.5 is just some errata that was added to third edition to address some balance issues. It is not incorrect to say the game uses 3rd edition rules because it does.
