http://happyparrotfl.blogspot.com/ Scooter Girl wanted to learn how to do some of the Vespa maintenance. I told her why not make a video to share with other scooter riders who may want to learn as well. She thought it was a great idea.

In this video, she demonstrates how to: change the rear tire; change the gear box oil; and change the engine oil. Part 1 shows the tire removal and part 2 shows the reassembly. We had a great time, and I hope you enjoy watching.

  • Hey I love your videos!! Just some constructive criticism..it would help a lot if you list the tools and parts that you use in your videos in the information for the video :D

  • @ziggy7676 We also post the instructions including parts and tools used in the Modern Vespa Wiki. You can go to modernvespa and click on wiki. You will find all kinds of How To stuff there.

  • hi maureen! i love your videos. thanks so much for posting them. i'm curious if you've gotten your own vespa by now. also curious about who owns the vespa used in the vids.

  • @jeanneadele Thanks so much for your comments. No, I'm still saving up and hope to have something in the next six months. That's my dad's Vespa in the videos. He wants me to learn how to do my own maintenance, and we figured why not share while I'm learning.

  • @HappyParrotFL that's some dad you have there maureen! and of course, he's clearly got a wonderful daughter ! i am also wanting to get a vespa, and i am looking at used ones locally. i also want to be able to at least approach the repairs... although i don't have access to tools or a garage space. anyway, keep up the great work, i'll be watching... and good luck with your savings. any idea what model you're leaning towards?

  • @jeanneadele Thanks. I'm actually considering either a Fly150 or an LX150. I will most likely go used, and the Fly is essentially the same as the Vespa so I will already know how to do most of the maintenance. Good luck with getting your scooter.

  • I love scooter girl. Ha ha

  • I for one, am impressed. Not enough young people learning how to get mucky and be practical! I'm 24 and I don't have any friends my age who do their own maintenance. One day you might be stuck out there, in the dark, next to a busy road and when it's pouring down with rain, so good on you for learning to do this!! Keep up the good work!

  • Great video,Scooter Girl. And you're cute as a button.

How about the front tire change?

  • Cool project. Good luck with your maintenance and suck. A click-stop ratcheting torque wrench was a great investment for me, but might be overkill for standard maintenance. Ride safely! The Safety Course is worth its weight in gold! And learning to ride on dirt really drops the learning curve for riding a bike.

  • whats up girl, nice vids, get a clicker style torque wrench,
