Eriatarka Intro - The Mars Volta

The Mars Volta can be tough to listen to, but this song is reallllly grrrreat. I didn't even try to get the same effect as Omar's guitar (not too handy around the old effect pedal).

To get that sound he gets, i almost did, put a harmonics petal, reverb and distortion and you can get it. The harmonic has to be on Unison.

I wish I knew about pedals and guitar gizmos, but I really don't. I just played through my amp and fiddled around with the knobs until I got a sound I liked. Maybe it sounds different because I fingerpick and grow out my nails a bit, and you don't hear people do that on an electric very much.

A couple years ago I stopped playing guitar. I remember looking at THIS specific video and wanting to learn the intro. Found this in my favorites recently and picked up the guitar for the first time in years. Beautiful version of Eriatarka man. You inspired me to play again.
