Mike Sorrell first introduced me to this album. I haven't heard anything close to the creativity and talent this shows since. It was like walking out of the darkness into light for the first time! It would be great for this to made into a movie. It would make a great soundtrack! i just love the way he matched the elements w/ the instruments. then they all come together in the end.
Just remembering when I was young, and my friends and I were avid AD&D players. One of the the really creative fellows in the group based an entire adventure, complete with maps, and TSR module like text for us to play. One of the best personally created adventures we ever played.
I first heard this album ("RA") on a midnight album hour in Salt lake City when it was released. I was living alone and going through a divorce and was up late doing homework for college. From the first notes I was mesmerized and forgot the homework. First thing the next morning I rushed out and bought it. This music had saved my sanity during that difficult summer. This music (as well as much Todd's work) has been been with me to this day. Rundgren and Utopia had produced pure magical genius.
Remember coming home from the states listening to this...awesome collection of solos..keyboards,,,guitar and sound effects Definitely...sounds a little like Styx At one point the Bass solo sounded like it could have been Geddy Lee. does Todd Rungren still play?
What a great way to spend 18 minutes.

I don't think anything remotely close to this could ever be written again.

A classic, never tire of listening to it. Great melodies and harmonies, great lyrics, amazing creativity, and a wonderful hint of humor.
