My summer project. I couldn't buy everything (i mean harness, carabiners, cable, rope and everything else involved) wholesale and in total was around $300-$400. KICKS ASS!!!!!! All i need is a proper braking mechanism (maybe the block method, but where the hell can i get a bungee cord!?)

THIS ONE IS NOW REMOVED. i USED THE PARTS EXCEPT FOR THE CABLE AND BUILT A 230FT ONE FROM THE SAME TREE TO A PINE TREE NEAR THOSE THREE SMALL TREES AT THE VERY BACK OF THE PROPERTY. ITS THE HANG-ON TYPE CAUSE THE HARNESS WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS.

  • how thick was the cabel and im gona make one but im not superly conserned about safety scince my grandfather literlay built his house and can help me and my dad will know alot about cable since he replaced all if the cable on his sailboat rigging and did you know that 1/4 in cable can hold 1000 lbs. at working conditions so i think a little less will be good but nice and about the longer one must see vid thx

  • 1/4 will be fine, just make sure...

    - your pulley is designed specifically for a zipline

    - you have a proper climbing caribiner

    - you have a METAL, NON SPINNING pull up bar like at a gym.

I was so paranoid about safety, fuck the safety line and harness, your not going accross a canyon.

  • @kjun13 Cool vid. I'm making one that kind of does go across a canyon. It's a deep ditch (30-40 ft) with sticks, stumps, and rocks sticking up. I'm not going to buy a safety rope or harness. I'm just gonna use a seat and bar probably. I'm getting a cheap 1/4'' cable and cheap trolley. Any tips so I don't die? I'm not spending more than $100 on supplies for it. Thanks!

  • @mfacktor It's not fun if it's not dangerous. :D

    Here's my advice...

    - you can't risk a cheap build with something this risky. The trolley alone will be $100

    - seats are a pain in the ass, get a chinning triangle that they use in gyms as your handlebar.

    - with that kind of fall, get a failsafe. Seriously dude, a fall fucking hurts.

    - Get a trolley and caribiner from a real climbing store, not home depot or something.

  • who the f*** spends $400 on a stupid zipline for there backyard?? lol

  • @shelleylynnBacher a lot of shit went into making it PROPERLY. I've seen some real amateur jobs and i could send a damn car down my new one if I wanted to.
