@Ayvean Yes, TVP and TZM both promote no direct leadership. No one is required to "make decisions". The same way you don't have to tell your thermostat to turn on the heater when it's cold. Open source prevents the accumulation of power or resources and self policies for vandalism. Design and programming of the central nervous system would be an open source project just like linux. The environmental data would be crowd sourced just like youtube and wikipedia. All built within the cloud.

*Declare fractional reserve banking fraud that is
-
@LeksServices The problem is, when these things are fully realized, the entire industrial/capitalist model we used as a bridge to get to that point will become obsolete. When that happens, all the rich and powerful families of today will lose all their power and influence. For them, this is an utter disaster!
So they've allied themselves with the only other group that also wants to restrain technology: Religious Fundamentalists. And now they're pushing to stop technological progress completely.
-
@LeksServices - As I watch today's robber barons allying themselves with the religious whack-job wing nut fundamentalists, I can't help but ponder the importance of these observations.
Technology will eliminate the need for factories while also eliminating scarcity. You want to eat as much as you like of your favorite foods? One day, technology will enable us to do that. You want to live away from a planet, in your own "island" starship? Technology will one day allow that, too.
-
@LeksServices - With technological advances, and the coming replication technology (as in "Star Trek"), full and open use of the land will become possible. Eventually, the idea that anyone could "own" land (or, at least, that anyone could "own" more land than their "property" occupies) could be seen as ludicrous.
Add to this notion the crazy idea that we could all have our own, largely self-sufficient starships, and even land loses it's inherent value.
-
@LeksServices - Outside land, everything else is up for grabs.
We all need a place to sleep. This is a simple, easily understood need that everyone would recognize. Sadly, the anarcho-capitalists believe that 1% or less of the population should own 100% of the places to sleep. This leads to the enslavement of us all!
So it seems the first idea that has to be hammered in to our culture is that "land is free," meaning that people can use whatever land they need to survive.
-
@LeksServices - The people arguing for the destruction of government and the systems government had to put in place to guard against the excesses of the free market tend to be woefully ignorant of history. History shows what a rampant horror the "free" market truly is, with everything from wild and crazy "get rich quick" shenanigans to "the free market" leading to outright feudalism.
We can not afford to return to those days.
There is only one REAL resource, and that's land.
I'm still for a Constitutional Republic with applied Austrian School of economics. We just have to declare fractional reserve banking. I don't think this system would work because it doesn't work off of human nature

@tommy35ss Thank you for your comment. The problem with a constitutional republic is that the constitution is only a paper declaration. Actually enforcing it easier said than done. We need to eliminate the environmental factors that requires a constitutional declaration in the first place. I.E. making the constitutional declarations automatic by design. Nothing will stop individuals or groups from violating the constitution. You have to remove the motivations that would violate them.

@tommy35ss Also, the human nature argument is an outdated myth. For the past 2 decades researchers have come to a consensus that environment has more of an impact on human behavior than genetic programming. Genes are the operating system where environment are the apps or software. Humans come with the genetic code to be both compassionate and competitive. Environment determines which genes turn on or off. Human nature is a blank slate. Human behaviour is a reaction to environment.

While I love this idea, I do not see it as happening any time in the near future.
The Ayn Rand/"Chicago School" anarcho-capitalists seem to be winning on every front. It has been almost a hundred years since we began building a great mixed economic system, but most people today have forgotten the suffering it took to get the advantages they enjoy today. Subsequently, many people are working towards the destruction of the very system that made us great.

@LeksServices The current system is failing as we speak, in spite of all efforts to artificially prop it up. When it crashes, and it WILL crash, we will need to make a choice; restart society with the proven-to-fail system we currently use, or come up with a better alternative. We advocate a RBE so, that when the time comes, people may suggest a better way. This idea is not a "thing", it is a thought process. So long as we agree on the thought process we will naturally end up with a RBE.
