We muslims have to say to each other Assalamu Alaikum which means: Peace be unto you! and as response we say Wa Alaikum Salaam! which means: And on you be Peace!
Hi - I am making an illustrated card for a person for whom Arabic is his first language. He is a long way from home and is unwell and I would like to put something in the card that will make him feel less isolated. His English gets more fluent all the time and well my Arabic is non exsistant so communication is as best we can. He is not well at all and I would like to just nod a kind word towards him to say I know things are tough and wish him well. Would writing Assalamu Alaikum be suitable?
I keep it as a ringtone, it reminds me to say as-salaamu aylikum when I answer the phone instead of "hello" Which I think isn't a really good greeting. Just my opinion:)

Why you have to say it just to your kind of people? Do you not wish peace to all the other people in the world?
