Just some more rare video game music I liked that didn't already exist on YouTube.

Before Super Meat Boy, before I Wanna Be The Guy, there was Jumper. Created in Game Maker by Matt Thorson in 2004, Jumper was an insanely difficult game where you controlled Ogmo, a red brick who died over and over and over again just trying to make it to the exit. The game spawned several sequels and spinoffs, and Ogmo even made it into Super Meat Boy as a guest character. You can download the collected works of Matt Thorson from his site:

http://www.mattmakesgames.com/

While most of Jumper Two's music was stolen from http://www.vgmusic.com, the game featured a couple original tracks that, simply put, were awesome. Here is the rocking Final Boss Theme midi, rendered in the standard MGS Wavetable.

(For the record, the midi's composer, tdgc, has never publicly released the midi file. I recorded this as a sound clip directly from the game. Obviously, I own no rights to this song and I will readily take down this video if asked to.)

  • I remember this game! I spent ages trying to get the soundtrack for it back in 2005. Six years later, I've finally got it by decompiling the game. Now I just need to find the song titles.

If I remember correctly, all but 2 of the songs were midifiles from vgmusic.com, and were actually put up for download in many places. The remaining two songs were originals by tdgc, who didn't want them distributed. If you decompiled the game and got the midifiles, that's amazing.

  • @Strakester You wouldn't happen to have a copy of any of those tracks, would you? I can't seem to find them on the internet anywhere (vgmusic has 30,000 tracks, so it would be sort of difficult finding the right ones).

  • I love that musik so much as I died in the game :D
