Glenn Beck is beneath contempt. That he does not possess enough depth of emotional maturity to appreciate opera is hardly a surprise...but his childish, name-calling diatribe marks him as a nine-year-old boy trapped in an adult body. Such ugliness of spirit is tragic, to say the least.

Imagine what Abraham Lincoln would say if you brought him back to life and immediately sat him in a theater and showed him "The Empire Strikes Back."

That's basically the situation Beck was in when he saw Die Walkure. Walkure is the second part of a four-part series written in Germany 140 years ago in a society with different aesthetics, history, and problems and a different collective cultural knowledge.

Plus, if you know the opera, he very clearly dozed through Act I, which doesn't help.
