  • How much do u pay for the device and how much is the monthly fee? Hows 3g speed? Would u recomend it?

  • @5mentarioz I paid $80 for it with a two year contract, the monthly fee is $59.99 a month for unlimited 4g and on 3g a limit of 5gb. I would recommend it if your purely using it for travel, work, or just need internet on the go. Remember not all areas are 4g ready, so you may experience some 3g service and will have to make sure you don't go over the 5gb a month.

  • man those are terrible results....i got the new verizon mifi yesterday...good news = 20 mbps download and really awesome upload as well!!!! Bad news = I used 2 GB out of my 10 GB in 6 hours......The device will be returned very shortly....I'm not paying $80 a month for a measly 10 GB ...... Verizon, you can go suck an egg!

  • @urwhatthewho I'm so jealous 20mbps, I actually wanted to go with Verizon since LTE is the true 4g and Wimax is being pushed aside, but due to Verizon Cap on Data I had to go with Sprint. Clear who does Sprints Wimax is actually developing for LTE right now too, so we can see Wimax on it's way out once it project is finished. The speeds on Sprint improves if your outside to about 3mbps to almost 4mbps, and when I'm in a building I put it near a window to get decent speeds.

  • Do you use the Mifi for home use, exclusively? Does the device get extremely hot like others report for the Overdrive? And have you had any issues with the device freezing or rebooting, etc? I'm thinking of using this device exclusively for my home connectivity and I just do web browsing and video streaming (no gaming). Thanks for your input.

  • @paradise670 For home use, you must know that it cannot be in use while it recharges, and will disconnect while plugged in to be recharged. It works fine to stream video's and I did that on Netflix, so web browsing was fine. I got about 3 1/2 almost 4 hours of use for just web browsing and streaming some videos through Youtube so battery life is good. I did hear that the Sierra will be selling a docking station for the overdrive to be plugged in and be use for home use, but have not seen it yet.

  • My sprint mifi 3g is a piece of crap, i get about 6kb per second

  • Verizon lte is fast and I get it EVEYWHERE I didn't get 3g at but.....I had it for about a day n a half now and I used 2.4gb of data .....I had 2 upgrade to 10gb.....4now but ....u truly have 2 b careful.....

  • Those are fairly poor speeds. Here in Australia on a Vodafone 3G network on my Desire HD gets almost a 3mbps speed with 3/5 bars of reception inside....

  • @coffee4rob Thanks for the reply... I had thought you can leave the device plugged in and still have connectivity. Good to know.

  • @paradise670 I have At&t Uverse for home, but have tried using it for a couple of days of just the Mifi. It does not get too hot to touch, but like any electronic is full use it does heat up, but I can hold it in my hand after two hours of use and not feel like it's too hot to hold so that's good. It has not froze so far on me, but I did have to reboot it to get 4g since it does switch sometimes to 3g, you can set it to connect to 4g only too.
