This is a short video of what I would consider "special effects".

This set up would be used as a sequence showing one of our favorite scenes, the ramming attack. I would add blue green lights, the water cannon and possibly even use metal for the front Rakers.

The next problem would be to construct a target ship that would look like it blew apart once struck. The JetNautilus as seen in the video is about 100 pounds (wet) and could do some real damage to a model ship but even still I don't think it would look convincing unless some other special effects were added to the target ship? I could use the other 4 foot for turning sequences, but the special effects sub as seen in the video would be used for the final ramming shots.

Anyhow thought you all might enjoy the possibility of creating such a sequence.

  • Ye ramming sequences kick ass. I love seeing Nemo ram stuff.

  • Maybe if you hit the ship right, at just the right speed, it might look convincing enough.

  • Would love to see a ramming sequence!!!
