This is the 2010 University of Central Florida MATE ROV qualifying run. It began construction Friday morning and qualified in Florida Saturday! This is perhaps the simplest, smallest, and cheapest vehicle to ever compete. Obviously it will need a few updates before it can compete in Hawaii...

    but since I was there I can answer

    Yea they are RC Plane ducted fans. exposed brushed motors for no so obviously they need to be changed before Hawaii, but a nifty idea none the less!

    The funny thing is to see how close it is to actually flying in the air
