I think this is amazing, but her tone is SO DARK for this aria.

A very heavy approach to what should be a very light and ethereal piece of music. Unfortunately, Netrebko has a very limited facility for singing runs and florid passages - they turn out rather lumpy and uneven. And what a ridiculous bit of business to make her stab the guy and have him fall about during the cadenza! Sack the director, please!

Sounds like the old Mado Robin 45rpm EP played at 33 1/3! In other words: WRONG!!!

Great singing... But why did she stab the guy? I'm sure that's Netrebko improvisation, she tends to be quite the clown (see the CNN documentary about her!)... which in this context is quite funny!

people are talking about how dark is her voice, Callas also sang this aria and she had a darker voice than Netrebko. I like to hear her in this aria, and she's becoming always better... She can be lyric-dramatic and also coloratura, not only light sopranos have coloratura, I'm a lyric coloratura soprano...

La voz es bella, pero no para esta aria, esta aria suena muy bien en sopranos ligeras como Sills, Dessay, Sutherland, Jo. incluso Damarau. Pero me suena que esta señorita quiere agradar a "muchos" y pasar a la historia como una cantante que abarco la mayor cantidad de arias, ella debe saber y lo sabe que su voz es pesada, es lirica- dramatica ella, no hace los trinos, fiorituras, stacattos, y coloraturas propias de una ligera. En fin, cada loco con su tema.
