Have you turned on Wifi - maybe check and see if people are on it.

If you use it with 3g do you have to pay extra money in the bill of your provider?

@madvinegar The trick is to always get unlimited internet when you set up a contract for your phone.

I am with Orange (who basically suck - I will be doing a video on how bad they are), when I set up the contract - I continually rang them till I got the phone for what I wanted to pay £30.00 with free internet.

There is a knack to getting what you want, if you want any help further then let me know, but yes this is using 3g.
