  • two things to say to commonwealth engineering: 1) InterCity 125

    2) WHY DID YOU USE NON REVERSABLE SEETING IDIOTS IF U HAD THOUGHT ABOUT IT YOU WOULD NEVER HAVE HAD TO REPLACE IT ALL

  • only if the goverment spent the dosh to fix the tracks, then they could think about running it at 200kp/h or evan better upgrade the whole dam lot and do a French TGV inspired train they hit about 500kp/h the XPT's what a shame a train is only as good as it's tracks

  • Just think, if the Australian government were to spend a few dollars, to sort out the shocking poor track quality, they might end up with a train service that was quicker, smoother, and that people would want to use...

  • I never new that Comeng made a documentary film on the building of the HST inspired XPT. If you get a chance to ride on a HST in the uk it is well worth the experience as they go a lot faster than the XPT. Do you also know that the SRA sent the gradient profile of NSW rail lines to BR in the UK and asked what maximum speed would they recommend for the XPT and the answer came back "about 15mph". They were not amused!.
