A preview of The 1930s, a five-part miniseries that examines Americas response to the unprecedented economic crisis, high unemployment, and environmental catastrophe that threatened the nation during one of historys most tumultuous decades—a decade that is increasingly a touchstone for our own.
Beginning with the stock market collapse in Crash of 1929, the series looks at the creation of FDRs Tree Army in Civilian Conservation Corps; the construction of one of the greatest engineering projects of the modern era in Hoover Dam; the impact of the catastrophic drought that transformed the plains in Surviving the Dust Bowl; and an unlikely hero that gave downtrodden Americans hope in Seabiscuit.
Can't blame it all on Wall Street. The banks gave out loans way too easy and MANY of the companies have gone to other countries to make their products and have killed American jobs.

I was around during the Depression and the Dirty 30s. FDR put a Band Aid fix on everything.
I remember when my parents and a large number of people sating Wall Street should have been burnt to ground. Wall Street is the main cause of the Depression and our current economy problems.

Environment is their God and Obama is their leader. They see Obama as "The Chosen One" to lead them to their dream of total goverment control of our lives. The decision to control CO2 by the EPA and not by Congress this is where they are taking us so that no matter what party is in power their control will tighten. Obama Care was not about cost containing it was about power. Read the 10th amendent to our Constitution. Our founding papers state what the Fed. can not do.
