Duct Tape Costume

Time Lapse video of myself working on a duct tape costume. I am currently working on making a Carmen Sandiego costume.
There is a narrated version also available since the text is almost impossible to read.
The song is from the group called "BOND".
Some more details as well:
The pieces took me about six hours to create. Sewing the actual coat took quite some time, but I forgot to keep track and was unable to record it. Regular thread was used, but three sewing machine needles were broken in the process due to all the gumming from the glue and the thickness of the tape.
I hope to be updating my photobucket account (same username) with images of the full costume soon.

I'm sorry, this was a one-time project, and I won't be selling duct tape coats any time in the future.

woah! so.... it only took 10 rolls of duct tape to do that whole thing??

Give or take. Probably a roll or two more, to include the hat, but one roll goes for quite a ways if you want it to.

Couldn't you have just Duct Taped the pieces together? That's what we here did at school for our Duck Tape fashion show.

That was an option, but the clothes look very flat. By sewing, I was able to get the ridges that made the coat look as if it was not made of duct tape, but rather actual fabric. It was really a choice of preference, and while it took a lot more work, the coat has held up very well and still looks great.
