How dare you. You claim to be a member of the church and you talk like that. You need to talk to your bishop. That is not how you are taught to treat other people. You give other members a bad name.

The words to the hymn itself were written by William Clayton when he was on his way to Utah and heard that his wife back in Nauvoo, Illinois had just given birth to a child. The tune itself is well known and existed long before this specific hymn came into being. It has been adopted (and the lyrics of the third verse changed to make it less exclusively about the Latter Day Saints) a good many times since its writing, though, by other denominations.

Some 30 years before I retired last year I used to play the hammond organ for a local us- militay chapel near my hometown in Germany. My new goal (after retirement) is to qualify myself to play mass at my parish church. My present level is quite a bit better than what you hear in my uploaded video. I'll change that one day for something better.

That is a VERY nice organ, and there's a full 32 octave pedal board rather than only half.
Could you list the stops ?
How long have you been playing the organ? Do you do it as just a hobby?

I believe that this was an Anglican hymn before the LDS adopted it. What kind of organ is this? Ahlborn?

That could well be. In the LDS Hymn-book it simnply says "Old English tune" ;-)
The organ is a modified Content with 21 stops and a 30-tone pedal
