@TheHellenicFire RED FLAG is >NOT< a competition,it is designed to teach cooperation tactics between NATO air forces. there has never,in the history of RED FLAG,been a competition to see who is better,american pilots fly with soviet tactics and try to stop the combined NATO air forces from completing a certain objective,they fly with no AWACS support so it is no surprise they usually lose,it is all training,you CLEARLY dont know what RED FLAG is all about,if YOU did research you would know that.

@hotpocketpoison Its not only NATO countries that are invited. All of USA's close (emphasize on the close) allies are invited also. Many Arab countries also execute the Red Flag with the US like Egypt, UAE and Saudi.

@katopper Lol. You've gotta be kidding me, I think competition would be the last thing on their minds. Anyone who can fly one of these planes / manuever like that is insanely skilled in flying, and how all these pilots are synced is amazing. It takes very hard work to even be able to fly one of these. I'm sure the pilots have their "competition" because they do get to have their fun with these planes. But every time they get in the plane lol? Sounds like a troll post.

@katopper NO it isnt! if every country was against each other then there would be NO teamwork or cooperation being learned,which IS what RED FLAG was designed for. in case of WW3 NATO pilots would be flying together so they would NEED to know the same tactics or else risk things like friendly fire,mid airs,and devastating confusion. that is why they jointly carry out missions in RED FLAG. the USAF fly as aggressors because it is THEIR tactics,they already know them. USAF also cant use AIM-120s.
