From the album 1981's Paradise Theater. I think Tommy Shaw did the solo on the album. Dennis DeYoung on vocals. Decent album, not thier best, not thieir worst.

  • one of my favorite solos of all time, if not my favorite, and you did a spectacular job.

  • Thanks:)~ Rock On!

  • Nice job! I'm a huge fan of Styx and especially Shaw's and Young's guitar work and you nailed it very well. Thanks for posting this vid. Do you know how to play the solo for Lonely People or the intro solo for Nothing Ever Goes as Planned? If so would you mind posting performances of either of those?

  • Thanks man, I'll check it out, right now I was condering "Too much time on my hands" but I'll look at those two as well.Peace

  • where did you get the tabs ? I absolutely need them ! thx

  • Sorry man, I dont use tabs, just my ear. but I would imagine that the tabs would be readily available in any Styx tab book on ebay. I use the Tascam Guitar Trainer though and if you havent checked that out, check it, cause it is awesome.

  • Well played.

  • fucking AYE, man, that was AWSUM! ONE o the best I've heard (no offense, D.T.).

  • Nice playing bro, veryyy good. Definitely one of my biggest favorites too, awesome job.

  • good job i wish i was that good

  • Reminds of the Hotel California solo, this was great though

  • tommy was the mane on this.. And to me seeing how I have seen them 5 times live.. Best two underrated guitar players out there.. There my favorite guitar players...

  • Cool. Too Much Time would be killer too. Paradise Theatre was my favorite Styx album. Nothing quote as good as Come Sail Away or Renegade, but start to finish I think it's their most consistent. And it has my favorite batch of solos too.
