  • The song is "Fred", as recorded by The New Tony Williams Lifetime, and it was composed by Allan in early '70s with the title "Kinder"... but what is that new guitar?! Anyone knows?

  • Thankz for the title.

  • They digitally cut out the head of the guitar !

    ;-)

Wonderfull music, at least after a long time of listening to pop and then metal and then some classical and then some jazz and then fusion.

And hanging out with a friend that is great on the guitar and knows some metal. This is remarkable music.

  • I feel the need to comment on nearly every Holdsworth video becuase it is so good so i will comment here to make up for a million other comments i would have put on here.

Holdsworth phrasing here is amazing the chord at the very end had me saying "woooooow"

Jimmy Johnson is on fire, his bass phrasing and movements are incredible,

Husband is just on another planet here his is playing like a god.

    Best trio ever.

  • @anobiumpertinax His guitar is a Steinberger ZT3

  • I know these are bootlegs but they really aren't doing A.H justice quality wise on youtube.

  • I think everyones playing to much, three tunes at one time. Time to focus that genius .

I understand having a good time playing but at what cost?

  • allan holdworth is a great musician but with others like bruford, soft machine or uk but whenever he goes solo there is nothing but chords and fast scale all tunes sound the same its not only him 80%of todays music is meaningless and a speed show off, listen to John Abercrombie timeless album beutiful tunes and great speed when its needed that what made the70s great era for music simplicity and powerful melody that stays in mind and with joy, this is a musicians point of view and its the truth

  • Husband gives such an awesome groove here. I'm just bouncing along with it.

  • I love this freakin tune!!!! he's awesome..IS that a ZT-3 he's playing?

  • If there were gods of music, these would be them!

  • alan is the guitarists guitarist...blows my mind does this guy..his technique is something else..

  • Bazbo I found you it's Zappahead_7 from Zappateers awesome vids man really well done. Zappacheers to you mate>

  • i can't agree more

  • Bye the way thank you so much for Uploading these videos i don't no what i would do without this trio.

  • He's a DaVinci of our time...

  • Toonfan22, maybe Allan fucked your sister sometime ago? Or maybe you're Definately Stupid? Oh yes! You like Coldplay, ah ah ah!

  • I don't understand what Pat Metheny is doing and I've loved his music for nearly thirty years.

So why must one have to understand the music that they dislike?

  • Allan Holdsworth is the Einstein of improvisation.

  • BTW, if anyone's tempted to quote Emerson and say, 'I hate quotes, tell me what you know' I'll tell you that my wallet doesn't lie, and I've paid to see and hear Allan and his band many times over the years. Wow, I've seen Allan perform in three decades -- cool!

  • About Allan, Jean-Luc Ponty states, "Then as I was writing Point Of No Return, I was hearing in my mind the only electric guitarist who could bring the lyricism of that piece to its highest peak: Allan Holdsworth. Not only was I right, his playing here surpasses my expectations. His sound is more beautiful than ever and his lyricism combined with an intelligent choice of notes and rhythm make for the best solo that he ever contributed to my recordings." Yeah, I think that about wraps it up.

  • You can't even spell D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y right. Get lost :)

  • Toonfan: HAHA. I'm sure you know so much about this type of music, especially when your favourites are made up of Coldplay, Kanye West, Muse, and Zakk Wylde. What a joke. You obviously know NOTHING about music, you're just a typical pop-loving youtube troll. You're ridiculous, get a life.

  • Toonfan: You're a troll, and you know nothing about music. You're definitely biased, but more certainly wrong.

  • Here is another person who dares speak such terrible words of one incredible musician.

Why is it people feel the urgue to hate all things they don't understand?

I Know you don't know the first thing about Holdsworth becuase if you did, you would appreciate the vast amount of work it takes to become such a skilled and devoted musician as Holdsworth.

What a brilliant example you have created of musical ignorance.

Holdsworth fans will come down on you like a harmonization of perfect 5ths.
