If it was me playing, I would evade the monster and head south twice and investigate what the treasure is. Let Rodney or Luke deal with the monster.

@FunkyFox40 My understanding is that free actions can be taken as often as you like. Is there a particular skill you are thinking of?

@WatchItPlayed Sorry, i more meant the player abilities, such as the 1/2 you get on the card and the ones you gain each time you advance

@FunkyFox40 Unless the card or special ability specifically calls it an "action" then it is free. I looked through all of the abilitites on the hero cards, and none of them were actions (except for 1 which said, "in place of the rally action, do").
Does that make sense?
