This was told to me by a Finn from Joensuu over 10 years ago. The 2nd word is spelt 'phonetically'by a non-Finn so apologies. Maybe she was using a local dialect ? Do you deny that such an expression exists ?

What on earth are you talking about? :DD
I'm a Finn and never heard of such thing..."viirkoen"? (That is not a word I'm afraid.)

Wow! I have been to Finland twice - even if it was only a day trip to see Santa! It was usually pitch black by 12.30 / 1pm

Finland is fiercely proud of its independence. Thus the ultimate insult in these parts is to say 'Venaja viirkoen' which roughly translates as "May the Russians get you !", alluding to the days of General Mannerheim and the winter war etc

Very interesting and instructional for those of us who have never visited Finland. I admire your determination to keep filming. Best wishes.

I read that Tango dancing is very popular there but they do it a bit differently than in argentina.

I expect they do it inside quilts, as it does get cold there.
