Sorry you have had such bad experiences!`The Presbyterians in Patriensa are definitely Christians, and honest and reliable. I am not a Presbyterian, but I'm working with them and other Christian and Muslim groups in Ghana (see Web site for the Pangaea Network).
WARNING TO EVERYONE: I was very badly mistreated and taken advantage of by some Christians in Ghana. Be VERY CAREFUL who you trust, donate to, and associate with! Don't get burned like I was. I am still reeling from it. And, frankly, I am very angry about it.
Of course, be careful to whom you donate anywhere in the world. There are religious hustlers in every country. Ghana has about 8 million Christians; some no doubt are more ethical than others.
