Although I have sung, played, and/or conducted this on numerous occasions, today (9/11/2011) it is particularly heartrending, particularly moving. It speaks of the peculiar power that music has to heal our wounded spirits

I'm not surprised this is such a popular anthem - it's such a fine work. Superb performance, as one might expect from the St. Paul's choir. Mebbe we'll hear it even more next year for JI's 50th.

I sang the solo at 12 as well! And I am doing the Bass solo in a few weeks!
