Secret Marijuana THC/DUI Meeting Cancelled at Colorado Police Headquarters (8/24/11)
Activist Robert Chase shows up to at CDPS HQ to protest an illegal meeting of the Marijuana Per Se Workgroup, a sub-committee of a state advisory committee charged with deciding on a 5ng or less limit on the amount of THC drivers in Colorado (including legal patients) can have in their blood for a DUI/THC bill to be introduced in the legislature in 2012. A marijuana THC/DUI bill was killed in the state legislature last year after lawmakers failed to prove that a 5ng THC level was per se proof of impairment. As of Aug. 24, 2011, the Marijuana Per Se Workgroup had met at least 6 times in secret meetings over the previous two months.

Chase had sent several emails the day before asking that the secret meeting be cancelled in order to comply with Colorado's Open Meetings Laws requirements of timely public notice. They did decide to cancel the meeting, and informed all members of the Workgroup. But they did not notify Chase or post a notice on the website of the meetings cancellation. Chase, with some press covering him, showed up at CDPS Headquarters only to find out the meeting was cancelled.
