Renshu is a practice song that is learned by all beginners
There are many varieties of this song. Here is the version that we play it with our beginners what is should sound like and kinda look like :D.

In the video they play Renshu once together, then once staggering 8 counts, then together to end it.

  • Yeah, it's renshu, it's more or less the traditional practice piece for groups around the world. The world actually means practice, or so I'm told.

    -I wish Taiko was as big here on the East as it is out there in Cali.

  • @Rockbass1984 Yes! Renshu means practice in Japanese! Each group plays their own renshu differently too! This is just our version :)! Taiko is getting popular on east coast too! or so I have heard :(?

  • @CalpolyTaiko Slowly but surely :D There are a number of university groups/clubs and a few really solid professional groups. Most of the serious groups are in or near Boston and NYC. Not sure about how prevalent Taiko is south of New Jersey though. :D
