Maaaan the scene is like a dream,the girl is so talented n Gene wow,both of them seem like flying.Beautiful really.

It's one of my favourite scenes too: almost unreal, but deeply material too, soft and windy, marvelous!

after watching American in Paris, the introducer on TCM, said that Cyd was hired to play the role in American in Paris, but she discovered she was pregnant and declined so the part was given to Lesile Caron... I would have loved to have seen her in that role.. and this is coming from someone 29 and not even around during those times..i just feel her magic

Kelly was always the best and Cyd was always such a perfect partner for him.

I don't care if this whole scene thing was jammed in, its gorgeous, and this dance especially reminds me of a Salvador Dali painting with its endless deserted background and heightened colors.

This film is about entertainment and I was successfully entertained so it works.

A beautiful, beautiful scene. It's magical, and I love that dusk/dawn coloured background .. Lovely.
