Angiotensinogen -> angiotensin 1 -> angiotensin 2
renin catalyzes 1st reaction, acting in BLOODSTREAM.
2nd reaction is converted by ACE in LUNG.
Aside from its actions on AT1, ACE also breaks down bradykinin which is normally a local vasodilator (thus causing vasoconstriction)
AT2 actions:
1: thirst, SNS activation
2: Vasopressin (ADH) release
3: Direct vasoconstriction
4: Aldosterone activation
ACEi's inhibit all of these functions

ACE is secreted by pulmonary and renal endothelial cells and catalyzes the conversion of decapeptide angiotensin I to octapeptide angiotensin II

Renin doesnt "turn into" angiotensin. Renin is responsible for converting the zymogen angiotensinogen into angiotensin I

@misterthilo at least somebody here knows what theyre talking about
CORRECTIONS! Okay... I was a little tired making this one....
1. I mistakenly said "liver", it is the lungs (not the liver)
2. The correct spelling is not angiotension, angiotensin

You are correct about the Aldosterone. Many times the adrenal glads are simply referred to as part of the kidney. Remember.... Adrenal Cortex: Aldosterone, Cortisol, and the sex hormones. Adrenal Medulla: Epi, and NE. Thank you for pointing this out.
