This is a video I made for a Musich Technology class. Not the best performance, but fun nonetheless.

  • Great video, what kind of audio recorder did you use? I admit to playing in the bathroom all the time, and I have wondered how great it would sound in a stairwell.. now I know!

  • @ucdcrush Thanks, i appreciate it. I used a zoom H2. They're great and not that expensive. The zoom H4 is also good and there's pretty good reviews here.

  • hi jp.very difficult piece toy play, you play well. notice only few people play on you tube. i myself play this piece over a year now, hope someday will post. when u record in your bath room and staircase with micr/maplify. sound very diff. is that torres guitar you play.thank

  • @saigonclassicalguita Thanks, it's a great piece. I made this video for a class specifically to demonstrate the different acoustical qualities of different environments, and the bathroom and stairwell definitely suit the guitar a lot better. the guitar I'm playing is a 2006 Sergei DeJonge, from Quebec, Canada. I'll try and post another version of this (with lower quality audio unfortunately) from my graduation recital.

  • as long as acoustics are concerned, the bathroom might be the funniest one but (to me) has the deepest and most "round" sound, great acoustics. sorry for my english

  • @jpsnyder - cool. I actually have an H2 of my own, but didn't have good luck with it until I started tinkering to see how to set it up, and do noise reduction etc.and add reverb etc. I just posted a video where I used the H2, and at the end I play part of this Op5 no1, I need to keep practicing it.

  • Great fun to listen to. Shows how different the same guitar can sound just by changing its environment.

  • the guitar sounds beautiful while in the staircase, i loved the concept of your video and thumbs up for playing this piece it's a toughie =)
