« La vie était belle » is a video in which Sirine Fatthouh questions her father and his twin sister on their memories of Beirut: they are brought to tell their memories, stories of their past, of a Beirut before wartime. They then talk to her about the present that is more difficult and painful. Fattouh attempts to understand which place plays the past in their rapport to the present. Why do they seem to live in the past?
