PRS SE Soapbar sound demo

A demo of the SE Soapbar's slightly overdriven sound on the neck pickup. I used a TonePort UX1, with an AC30 simulation. I'm not really a fan of digital amp modeling, but you should get a basic idea of the guitar's character.

I am torn between a singlecut se and the singlecut soapbar.

What is the main difference in tone between soapbars and humbuckers? Thanks for your input.

Soapbars are single coils, so they capture finer nuances (and mistakes) in your playing better. For clean and crunch, I prefer the sound of soapbars, but for more distortion, you should probably go with humbuckers. Soapbars do hum quite a lot. I would recommend to try for yourself in a shop or just watch more videos with these guitars - you will get the difference.

@nicoooh but what would i use for like a hendrix(blues-rock) tone with distortion? my soapbars or my humbuckers?

@ajayprs155 I sold this guitar to get a Strat. For Hendrixey tone I would go with singlecoils, so I'd fot with the P90s. However, Hendrix did pretty much have an 'I don't care' approach, so I'd start with a Hendrix attitude more than worrying about the pickups.
