I love that surprising 'Phrygian', bit!
A smashing rendition of a fine song.
Well done.
This has just entered my Christmas repertoire. Can I borrow your phrige?!
Many thanks,
Colin.

Thanks mojo...The second to the last note in this song is not played the way most play this song. I used a Phrygian interval on that note as a choice to provide something different for the song.
Good Luck

Thanks David
I wanted this to be an instructional video to show what can be done playing and singing with the dulcimer in simple methods and then demonstrate what can happen when other instruments are added. I also took a chance by playing and singing this song with some modifications to keep it entirely in the Phrygian tuning.

Barulho...The Mountain Dulcimer and the Appalachian Dulcimer are the same instrument in the USA. The instrument is said to have developed from European instruments brought to the USA in the 1700's. Much of the development occurred along the Appalachian Mountain range. Many tried to call it just a dulcimer, but when hammer dulcimers started becoming more known, the dulcimer became known as the Appalachian, Mountain, or Lap Dulcimer to distinguish it from the hammer dulcimer.
Thanks
