AND.....false chord, grunt....really any death or heavy metal singing. can be used for a mute to communicate...none of the techniques require vocal chords.....and alot of videos on YT cant stress enuff not to USE THEM!!.....so a mute can talk...ho/she would just sound like Nathan explosion all the time...very unlikely but possible
@jeannaegirl vocal cords allow the human being to control their outward push of air into a rhythm of words that are used to communicate with. Grunting is just a large push of uncontrolled air caused by breathing out roughly.
@cartercool6 i have a question.......please do not be offended, i'm just very curious and can't get a clear answer anywhere.......i've read that there is some kind of deformity within the voice box (or chords?) that causes one to be mute, but i don't really understand why they can make some small noises but not speak......it's interesting, actually......do u know why this is?

@jeannaegirl Could be, it can also be a deformity in the vocal cords as well as some kind of injury damaging the vocal cords, or nerve damage.

@dzgfdg so being mute is having a lack of control over ur vocal chords?
