Go9 Pool Club 9 Ball Knockout Final - Tony Burton vs Calum Ranson

http://www.pro9.co.uk This is the final match in the monthly Sunday 9 Ball Knock Out at Go9 Pool Club in Essex contested between Tony Burton (a GB9 Pro Tour player) and Calum Ranson (one of the local heros that did well in this event).

When it comes to action and incidents, this video has it all!!!

Comprising of three of the most exciting consecutive racks of the final occurring before the final winning game, it features some absolute "howlers" by Burton, who actually missed a shot when his mobile phone rang in his pocket at the precise moment of shooting the shot!!!

Here's the itinerary of the fun...

0.00 First rack - Calum Ranson breaks.

1.54 Burton scratches into the side - you can hear club regular "Andrew" give his hilarious comments on this shot from the audience!!!

3.05 Second Rack - Burton breaks, Ranson misses, Burton dishes!

5.50 Third rack - Calum Ranson breaks - makes three balls on the snap - nice!

7.40 Cruelest scratch ever seen as the ball bounces off the back rail at the weirdest angle ever seen.


8.09 Burton misses a sitter as his mobile phone rings in his pocket - you can even hear him answer the phone afterwards and says, "I'll call you back"!!!

9.20 Burton scratches on the nine and concedes the rack!

After this video, Burton won the deciding rack and took this admittedly one-sided final with a 7-3 score.

They use them all the time on the Euro Tour (450 player tournaments) and all the GB9 Ball Tour events... I think they do the same at the Matchroom Sport events too but it's already been done before the cameras arrive!

It can make the break a little bit too consistent sometimes, hence they start moving the rack forward to prevent the very easy "wing ball" dropping into the corner pocket every time!

I use to play on those tables with " dents " it s ok, why dont you almost never see then in big tournements? I still think it can influence your ball at low speed.

I know one guy who has huge hands and can rack tight with them, without the little dents... He racks really fast, it's quite amazing to see, but for everyone else - we need the EPBF Fast Rack!

It's good because it speeds up tournaments... Players don't need to spend a long time checking the rack!

This is me!! Had an apsalute mare of a final! Lost this 7-3. Im the one in the white shirt. Played well all day and then played rubbish in the final. lol oh well bit more practise and ill be tehre! lol.

they are racking with hands, little holes under the cloth makes that the balls are in good position and frozen against each other, not bad but after a while not 100 % , well a regular rack not always clean ever..

The table has been prepared using The EPBF Fast Rack - a "table training" device which enables small dents to be positioned perfectly in the cloth, so that the balls simply roll into position without a triangle.
