  • @TuxGnome On windows, the program putty allows for client side operations with ssh including graphics forwarding. It is also possible to install ssh server programs on a windows machine. But i do have to say, Linux does provide the best experience with ssh.

  • great man, i did'nt know that, nice job... ty for vid.

    try this with windows [2]

  • Try this with Windows HAH

  • I posted this to one of Mitch's vids as well, but Shawn...In addition to online resources, what two books would you recommend to someone who has a working knowledge of LInux, but what to delve more into the command line side of it. I'm pretty much a DOS guru do the command line format is nothing new to me. I realize the commands and switches are different. What would be the LInux "Bible" for DOS users to convert to Linux Command Line use? Suggestions?

  • i idint know that, good job!

  • great!

  • Knew this one. Comes in handy often. But I hardly ever use GUI stuff from remote servers cos it's so slow.

  • Interesting. Will try it asap!

  • That is great! but :(, i had ssh for a bit, i rebooted my computer days later and found my pw was changed. In auth.log i found 1000s of different attempts to log in. one of them got through, and... 1. changed my pw 2. downloaded a 125mb file 3. deleted that file 3. examined my system 4. removed lines from my bash.log 5+ and goodness knows what else! Be warned have a safe password, and even try a safe name too because most of the attempts used familiar names.
  • Power penguin FTW!
