Galasphere 347 approaching Mars. (Space Patrol!)

Anyone else remember 'Space Patrol'? Long before the Thunderbirds flew, this puppet based science fction show was on the air, featuring the adventures of the spaceship 'Galasphere 347' as it whizzed around the solar system. I recreated this scene of it approaching Mars in colour using Lightwave 3d, and a brief clip from the original soundtrack.

Ah yes, one of the hairy men of Mars! The Venusians were distinctly camp, the Martians distinctly butch!

This show was called Planet Patrol in the US. When I was a kid, it came on at 3PM, the same time I would get out of school. I would run home as fast as I could to watch it. I'd alway miss the first 10 minutes or so. Thanks for putting up these vids.

Looms large in my childhood memories. Does anyone else remember the Martian character saying "I'm hungarrrry"?

It's been some 50 years, but I still remember this series, and whenever I flick a switch I still say to myself "Gamma rays.... on. Yobba rays.... on"

I would love to see the entire series... From what i know, it was very clever and imaginative, in spite of the reduced budget.
