the song is not written by Katsaros, who performed it exceptionally. It is traditional. Katsaros talks about it in a video in youtube, where he states that he made the song in 1919, but what he menas is that he first recorded it that year...

The song belongs to both greek and turkish musical traditions. the national ego has always to prove itself thats why people fight for possesing what... a piece of art..art belongs(if say this) to those who are touched by it, not even to the creators.

@saltadoros08 Ελληνας ειμαι..τεσπα,λεω οτι λαθος η λεξη turkish song οπου γραφει γιατι το τραγουδι ειναι ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟΤΑΤΟ..η συγκεκριμενη ερμηνεια, ναι ειναι τουρκικη,οχι ομως και το τραγουδι...και ναι πιστευω οτι γινεται να κλεψεις και τραγουδια και παραδοση..πραγμα που εχει κλαπει απο τον ελληνισμο της Μικρας Ασιας απο τους Τουρκους, απο την Μικρασιατικη καταστροφη μεχρι σημερα..πολλα παραδοσιακα μας τραγουδια οι Τουρκοι τα θεωρουν πολιτιστικη τους κληρονομια..
