I'm gay. Have been since I came out in the 1970s. I have a sense of humour and I find this hilarious. Dick Emery is brilliant, and plays the gay Clarence as a confident, no-holds-barred poof. He's streets ahead of Mr Humphries, and the Gay Lib movement might not have approved of him in the 1970s, Clarence has stood the test of time. Bravo Mr Emery!

I hope the clothes for these characters are still around. Wouldn't it be great if there was an exhibit of them? I think the Victoria and Albert museum had an exhibit of the costumes from a historic series 'The six wives of Henry VIII' . I think Dick Emery's costumes merit the same.
