Premonition (1981)

Lyrics:

When I would concentrate with all my might,
I could imagine
I would imagine,
That I was standing in the spotlight

And if I close my eyes, very tight
A crystal vision,
A premonition
Would find me shining underneath those hot lights
*And Id daydream in school
With faraway eyes
Living the words of the radio songs
Making my plans
Someday to take the stage
With a rock and roll band*

**And I would play in the light of a thousand smiles
(And the sound would be heard for a thousand miles)
Spreading through the towns and fields of America
America**

And I would demonstrate, every night
My plan of action,
The crowd reaction
Id have em standing, in the front row

With my air guitar, and only my imagination
Wed rock the nation
The main attraction,
In the rock and roll show

( * Repeat)

( ** Repeat)

And time goes by some grew weary
Its hard to keep that dream alive
Oh alive
But love and music, keep me goin
I know that somehow Ill survive
Ooh Ill survive

( * Repeat)

( ** Repeat)

  • This song is my personal anthem. Jim Peterik did a remarkable job on this track.

  • @hermannsam1 aye, either this or maybe the first album. truely great band. never did much wrong. jimi? dave? didnt really matter, survivor fans really were spoiled!

  • Jim played at a fund-raiser outside our (LaGrange) village hall this past Friday night. After his sound check I told Jim this, along with Rebel Girl, are my favorite Survivor songs. Jim - play Rebel Girl more - it's awesome! Great night too...thanks Jim (and Lisa).

  • a great song from the 2nd best survivor album!

  • Thanks for the 411, and yes, this is a great tune for all us High School Garage Band , Back Yard Keg Party Band Mates, whom have all become either Corporate Daddies, or well, Crazy Insane, that we never got the chance too, " Sing! underneath those hot Lights!!" If you like this Track, check out the "Ever Since the World Began". You'd more than likely like the melody there.

  • dave bickler? he got polyps on his vocal cords and so he had an operation and wasnt allowed to sing for years =\

  • whatever happened to Dave S?

  • Thanks for posting, such a pretty melody.

  • Dave Bickler has no replacement. His voice, style, looks- amazing.
