A British Falklands veteran embarks on an extraordinary journey to meet the Argentine pilot he thought he'd killed in the 1982 conflict.
Neil Wilkinson from Leeds was 22-years-old when, as an anti-aircraft gunner onboard HMS Intrepid, he shot down an enemy skyhawk fighter jet.
For decades he believed the pilot was dead.
But First Lieutenent Mariano Velasco had ejected from his burning aircraft and survived.
Now, three decades on, the two former enemies have come face to face for the first time.
Nicola Rees reports from the Falklands and Argentina for BBC Look North and BBC Inside Out in Yorkshire.

Nice to feel there's still hope for peace; despite of Illuminati politicians and war mongering media.

@skisurfsmiles im not in a position to state if this you write is true and provided it is why the government did this, but i can ask you the same about why the british government still refuses to sit and negotiate like the UN says.

@sbusacca Infact a mere 2 years after the supposed treaty of amity and alliance that you say was in 1794, the Second Treaty of San Ildefonso was signed between spain and france against UK!!!

@sbusacca could you atleast try to direct me towards these treaties? if they exist

@sbusacca incorrect in 1770 spain and Britain came close to war but the Spanish signed a treaty restoring the British claims. The document is still held in the archives and can be produced to the international court. 50 years ago the UK offered Argentina the chance to take the matter before the International Court in the Hague but Argentina declined. If you have such a great case why did youn refuse to go to court?
