My company, 54th FSC, stationed at Fort Bragg, has chosen the 54th Regiment of Massachusettes to be our heritage. We have more similarities than just the number of our unit.

@EagleOneoOne. The artillery did give it a continuous barrage beforehand. However, they should've kept on firing until 54th's final charge.

From the moment Thomas screams as they charge the dune i get shivers down my spine. Beautiful, savage, inspiring, a real masterclass.

I think what is so amazing about this battle is that the 54th Regiment was VERY close to gaining control of Fort Wagner. Even though African American people were still greatly hated by the white people, they were accepted a lot more and especially in the 54th Regiment by their head officers and all.

They did finally take the fort, but the damn Confees had evacuated it before they could attack. They built three batteries on land and just shelled them into oblivion.

They didn't take the fort, but they did go inside inside the fort and try to fight their way through it and take it. However, the 54th regiment was VERY close to taking Fort Wagner over.

8:32 was an "Oh shi-" moment.

Once the Colonel got shot, I wanted to cry 5/5 movie
