@jellederijke No need. The 18 watts of power doesn't give too much headroom tbh. Depending on which output your pickups have, the amp will start overdriving around 2,5 to 4 on the dial. However, you can achieve different sounding overdriven sounds by using a pedal instead of cranking the gain (volume).
Volume wise though is never a problem. I played a +1000 person venue in December using this amp, of course miked up.

@Nomdeguerre Nice, I use a EHX Cathedral. Do you use a booster to get a decent overdrive sound on this amp?

@jellederijke Thank you! Yes, the amp is fantastic. The clean sounds are kind of an "in your face" to the people who say that Marshall can't do cleans. =)
The delay pedal is a EHX Memory Man Deluxe.

Can you supply some more info on the song you're playing? Just picked up a 1974x and would love to learn this song. Also, if you could note your amp settings that would be great. Tried to get them while watching the video, but not sure I got them correct.

@Fu3lC3ll Guitar tuned to DADAAD and then just some noodling. Don't bother about the amp settings. This baby cannot sound bad no matter how you turn the dials. Set tone at noon and go from there according to taste. Set volume to the amount of breakup you desire.
