As an American viewer, it was certainly a surprise when I tuned in to discover that the Gladiators had become an international sensation. Most of our ladies were large and blond so slim, brunette, pretty-in-pink, and ultra-cute Jet left quite an impression on behalf of the UK.

I didn't know that. That may explain why the show has always been called "American Gladiators" over in the states while it is called "Gladiators" over there. I only use "British" because I'm from America... :-)
