UPDATE: This coach #1127 is now retired along with #1123, #1125, #1118, #1087, #1106, #1109, and #1115 as of July 16, 2010.

Folks, I've made a slight error about the RTS' retirement; half of them are still active. Last time, I've went to Flint, I didn't see any RTS buses at all; I think it's probably because they were operating on a different route or they weren't used for service--either one. But anyway, I was VERY lucky to find those good ol' workhouse RTS' still active in service! Anyway, here is the picture of the 1989's Flint MTA TMC RTS T8O-206 #1127 with the sound audio of the Detroit Diesel 6V92TA engine with the Allison V731 ATEC automatic transmission.

Engine: Detroit Diesel 6V92TA
Transmission: Allison VR-731 ATEC automatic

BTW, I've kinda messed up the sync at the end so I'm gonna try to reupload the video part of the RTS bus departing from Great Lakes Crossing Mall.

  • @newyorkfan16: UPDATE: This coach is now retired.

  • GOSH!! I love this damn thing!!

RTSes RULED THE WORLD!!! T I remembered rode couple 1989 TMC RTSes at Dayton Ohio (RTA) which it sounded just like this. Dayton's 1989 TMCs retired around early- mid 2000s like 6 years ago.

  • @baul104

well try to compare this sound to Connecticut transit's 9312

    (1993 NFI D40HF)

  • I don't know; it might be...

  • the axle on this RTS sound different too, could it be in the transmission

  • this bus reminds of our gmc/tmc rts buses back in boston

  • sound like mbta' s old 1985 gmc rts

  • Well, I'm not from Las Vegas where CAT buses runs...

  • you would have adored CATs especially "413", but they retired too soon
